Why IPv6 matters with a VPN
Many internet connections support both IPv4 and IPv6. A VPN should handle the protocols it claims to protect. Problems can occur if one protocol is routed differently from the other.
What this test means
NetPrivacyScan checks whether the browser can reach an IPv6-only destination. The presence of IPv6 is not automatically a leak, and the absence of IPv6 is not automatically better privacy.
Privacy Score: NetPrivacyScan does not penalize you merely for having IPv6 available.
What to investigate
If your VPN says it blocks IPv6 but this test can reach IPv6, review the VPN application's settings and documentation. If the VPN supports IPv6, availability may be completely expected.
