About & Contact
NetPrivacyScan is maintained by Lee Palmer. It brings together practical checks for the public information a browser and connection expose, with explanations that help you decide what to investigate next.
What the site is for
The tools are intended for checking your own connection, comparing a VPN setting, and understanding approximate network information. You do not need an account. They are not identity checks, forensic evidence or a substitute for professional security advice.
How recommendations are funded
Our VPN recommendation is based on our own use. Read the recommendation and selection guide for details. Qualifying purchases through our affiliate links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. That relationship does not change a measured result or the checklist calculation.
Read the privacy policy and affiliate disclosure.
How we write our guides
Every guide is written to answer one practical question: what a result means, what it cannot prove, and what to do next. We explain the limits of each browser test rather than presenting a single result as proof that a connection is private or leaking. Browser and operating-system menus can change; contact us if instructions do not match your version. Each guide and tool page shows when it was last reviewed.
Independence
Advertising and affiliate relationships do not decide what a test reports or what a guide recommends. Guides explain settings that work with any VPN, and we link to a product only where it is clearly labeled as a recommendation.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, an outdated menu path, or a result that looks wrong, email us with the page address and what you saw. Reports help us investigate mistakes and update the guides.
Report a problem
Email [email protected] with the page address, your browser, the result you expected and the message you saw. Remove your full IP address, precise location, API credentials and other personal information from screenshots before sending them. Please do not send a private photo to troubleshoot the Photo Privacy tool.
Recent maintenance
October 8, 2026 (later update): rewrote the DNS, VPN, location, speed and proxy guides with step-by-step instructions, added on-page VPN, WebRTC and IPv6 checks, published an index of all guides and tools, and added a page-not-found page.
October 8, 2026: clarified the scope of WebRTC and IPv6 checks, removed empty reserved advertising boxes, expanded result interpretation for Browser Check and IP Lookup, and published the test methodology. These changes describe the current implementation; they do not claim an independent security audit.
